Keeping up with social media is sometimes a no easy task. It takes time and consistency. However, if you social media right, you can raise awareness of your brand, blog, or any product and create a bond with your audience, turning them into customers. I know all that sounds great. But it starts with the first things: time and consistency.
Luckily, I have learnt how to spend a little less time with a few special tools online. They’re free. And by the way, these tips are real and they really work. All you’ll need to do is to set things up and you’re ready to go.
1. Publish Instagram Pictures As Native Twitter Pictures
Do you remember the times when Twitter and Instagram were still friends? Until Facebook bought out Instagram and they un-friended. Since then, if you share a picture from Instagram, it won’t appear on Twitter – rather than just a link that leads back to Instagram. And that’s rather frustrating because you want the pictures to show up and you know how much time it takes to re-upload them on Twitter manually.
Luckily, there’s a solution. If This Then That, or commonly known as IFTTT has a solution in one of their “recipes”. All you need to do is to create an account at IFTTT and then link your Instragram and Twitter Accounts. Finally, activate the “recipe” Share your Instagram photos as native Twitter photos and that’s it! Now your Instagram pictures appear on Twitter as native pictures, not like a link.
2. Autopublish New Blogposts To All Your Social Profiles
Jetpack is one of the native WordPress plugins and it includes a handy autopublish tool called Publicize. Once you activate Publicize in Jetpack (or you can download Publicize as a separate plugin), go to Settings > Sharing in WordPress. There you can connect your social media accounts with your blog. The magic happens when you publish a new blog post: as soon as it’s out, Publicize announces it on all social networks you connected. You can connect your blog with Facebook (including pages), Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Tumblr and Path.
3. Publish Instagram Pictures To Facebook Pages
Another fantastic recipe from IFTTT: publish Instagram pictures to your Facebook page when you use a specific hashtag. For example, I update my Instagram account with pictures for Zero to Blog (e.g. when I’m doing a workshop). And when I publish the pictures on Instagram, I want to publish them also on my Facebook pages, depending on the content of the picture. So I set up this recipe to do this automatically every time I use the hashtag #ZeroToBlog with the Instagram picture. Super-simple.
4. Preschedule Instagram Pictures
Instagram has always tried to keep their user’s accounts fresh, meaning they never allowed scheduling any content. Luckily, Hootsuite has managed to hack this small obstacle in the world of social media. You can now schedule Instagram pictures through Hootsuite.
It works like this: you upload a picture and write the post (text), set the publish date and time. Then, on the date and time you selected, you’ll get a notification on your phone to publish your post. Hootsuite will automatically send the picture to Instagram (so you don’t have to select it from your camera roll or any album) and copy the text to clipboard. You can edit the picture as usual and simply paste the text. Finally you can hit the publish button and your picture is ready for the world to see.
5. Find Out What’s The Best Time
When you start your social media presence, figuring out what time is the best to post can be tricky. Different research gives different data, but what is the best publishing time for you? Buffer figures this out for you. It’s a simple integrated trick that you can set up as soon as you create an account with Buffer. And of course, you can cancel this setting it anytime.
Do you use any of these tricks for your social media? Or do you use some other automated hacks? Share in the comments which are your favourite.
